The Papal function, however, now takes place at Saint Peter’s; but the usual Indulgences are still granted to those who visit the Arch-Basilica. The Mass of this Sunday retains no vestige of the joy which characterized the ceremony of the Palms. The Introit is taken from the 21st Psalm, in which the Royal Prophet expresses the anguish of soul suffered by Jesus on the Cross. Introit Domine, ne longe facias auxilium tuum a me, ad defensionem meam adspice: libera me de ore leonis, et a cornibus unicornium humilitatem meam.
